They are much faster than an impregnated grinding disc because they have 100% diamond exposure. 

Pads with 800, 1800 and 3500 grits are  made from premium diamonds and resin.

Can be used wet or dry.

Electroplated pads can operate well at any speed

Up to 11500 RPM. 

Resin bonded pads - up to 4000 RPM.
